“BEE STING for guitar and fixed media, was written for guitarist Volkmar Zimmermann. The title is a colorful description of the predominant timbres of the piece which are the thick overtones of the guitar and pointed, accented plucked strings. The goal was to compose a work in which the artificial sounds are integrated with the natural guitar sound such that there is a melding or synthesis of the two.” Charles Norman Mason
